In recent years, it has become a norm for commercial vehicles in Rivers State not to be painted according to the colour for commercial vehicles in the state. With this observation, the Rivers State Ministry of Transport will begin to impound commercial vehicles not painted accordingly.
The impounding of vehicles by the state government will begin because, commercial vehicles were given one month to get their vehicles painted. The one month given, ended on the 4th of July, 2018.
With this recent development, the state government will begin to impound commercial vehicles not painted in the state colours, as they have refused to comply.
This initiative has been set up to reduce crime, maintain law and order, and ensure that every commercial vehicle in Rivers State is duly registered.
At the moment, a team has been deployed to major roads to impound commercial vehicles not painted accordingly.
