#smhosliveservice: THIS EVIL GOING ON IN MOST OF OUR UNIVERSITIES MUST STOP!- David ibiyeomie

David Ibiyeomie is the presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries – Home of Success; one of the fastest growing and spreading churches in the world. He pastors millions of worshippers spread across the globe with Headquarters presently located at Plot 17 Birabi Street, GRA Phase 1, Port Harcourt in Rivers State of Nigeria.

The Church is a place where societal ills are addressed and corrections dispensed in accordance with biblical and moral standards. If the Church remains silent regarding these issues, the society will suffer moral degradation and corruption. A trend has been observed in most of our Universities and it is considered so normal that some teaching staff regard sexual intercourse with female students as one of the fringe benefits of their status as lecturers.

It has become such a status quo that students no longer bother reporting because the Universities seem to have developed a code of silence that protects the 'cult' of predators who hunt the Universities regarding these issues. Female students attend lectures with fear and a certain willingness to give their bodies in exchange for academic grades.
Female students, please listen attentively; in the real world where your skill and competence will be tested, what will you have to give? For how long will you pay for grades and a job with your bodies? It is time you stop. Rather, focus on developing yourselves mentally to the point where no one will be able to molest you.

Lecturers, listen up; do you have daughters, sisters or female relatives? How would you feel if their teachers failed them because they refused them sexual gratification and 'sorting' (because the men regard it as sorting). While you are thinking of the immediate gratification, remember your students would not remain students forever. What would you be remembered for? If you think about this, you would reconsider your actions and change from harassing students. Lecturers please allow the young people to grow. I think it is unethical to ask for sex or money in exchange for grades. It is not a standard in any academic circle in the developed world. To this end, our universities should protect female students rather than make them prey to men who have literally sold out their conscience. Ladies, be bold enough to speak out against such victimization and if the school authorities would not take necessary action, the Church would pray such corrupt lecturers out.

Student Unions, listen up; your associations in unions should not be geared toward political affiliations, but rather for the rights of students through dialogue and public enlightenment and not unnecessary violence. Listen attentively; shun unnecessary protests, riots and other vices, but take a stand against every immorality and disregard for sanity. All students must unite and seek justice in favour of your fellow students against sexual harassment and extortion because today, in the United States of America, students have become united in their stand against gun violence in Schools and they are underway to influencing the government to change the Gun Laws in that great nation. I want to say to all of you, that, where values become eroded, the voice of the society will lose its essence. We must take our stand for this nonsense to stop and it must stop in our time.

Thank you and God bless Nigeria.

Reason why I left E-one Records- MAXI

To my fans, DeeJays, OAPs, Bloggers, lovers of good music all around the world & most especially the entertainment industry in general, I, ABIDOYE ADESHEYE KAZEEM aKa(Superstar Maxi) wishes to announce that I am no longer connected, signed to or in any form of business with “E ONE RECORDS”.

This was made official by the record label ruling me to be unfit & disrespectful which is no way true. I want to say both parties parted ways due to irreconcilable differences.

My legal team and I therefore has decided to let the record have the 3 songs I produced under them which are; Lap Dance (Video), Love Matters & Harmattan. This means I won’t be promoting any of them as mentioned above. I also from henceforth will not be using the record’s name for any of my promotional ads. In line with that, Eone Records, is also not permitted to use my name for any form of publicity. Any payment(s) being made for my presence based on performances or appearances to them is an absolute fraudulent move because I’m no longer with the said label.

Furthermore, any unjustifiable act by the label using any of my names will be taken and treated seriously by my legal team & management hence I’m free from any sort of clause whatsoever that bounded our initial agreement.

I also want to use this medium to thank the management of EONE RECORDS for the opportunity & experience I got being with them and as well wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Superstar Maxi has worked very hard to build his personal brand and that I’ll keep doing. I can’t wait to keep making more good music for my fans especially those of who have been there for me from when this journey started years back. My only prayer is for God to give me the grace to keep soaring and never to live short of your expectations. To my fellow music artistes, not every name that has a “Label” at the end can fund your career. Learn to be careful while choosing people to trust and above all, never forget the reason you started in the first place.

My social media handles still remain the same and intact. I’m very much open to business deals, events & worthy record labels interested in signing.

Thank you.

GOVERNOR WIKE DECORATES GOVERNMENT HOUSE CAMP COMMANDANT WITH NEW RANK

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has decorated the Camp Commandant, Government House, Port Harcourt, Mr Irikefe Owen,  with his new rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The decoration  took place at the Governor's  Office  at Government House Port Harcourt on Friday.

Governor Wike decorated the Camp Commandant alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Mr Stephen Hasso, who represented the State Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed.

Chief Security Officer, Government House, Port Harcourt, Promise Wosu and other police officers  witnessed the decoration.

Mr Owen said that he will  continue to serve the nation diligently  as a police officer.

GOVERNOR WIKE CANVASSES SEPARATE MINIMUM WAGEES FOR STATES IN LINE WITH FINANCIAL CAPACITY

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has  stated that Nigerian workers will be better off when states are allowed to fix their separate minimum wages in line with their financial capacity to pay.

Speaking during a  public hearing on the new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers for the South-South geo-political zone in Port Harcourt on Friday, Governor Wike said that states vary in financial capacity, making a uniform minimum wage unrealistic.

He said: "And for us therefore, the single national minimum wage system is yet, another lie that betrays the distortions in our federation and the structured dislocation of the States in the power equation between the Federal Government and the federating States.

"It is our view that the country and its workers would be better of, if States are allowed to fix and pay their own minimum wages indexed to the prevailing cost of living and ability to pay.

"When this happens, it is possible that some States may go beyond the minimum threshold to pay a living wage, which is what our workers truly need".

Governor Wike said that  the previous review exercise failed to give maximum weight to the existing disparity in economic potential and capabilities among the 36 States of the federation, adding that  it has been difficult  for most of the States to implement the existing N18, 000.00 minimum wage.

He noted that majority of the States are within the fringes of financial viability and cannot meet their salary obligations to civil servant without bailouts from the Federal Government.

He said that enhanced  wages can only be possible  when the Federal Government improves the economy of the Federation.

He said: "Here in Rivers State, we value our workers; we invest in their welfare in different ways, and we want them to earn living wages that can keep them and their families as comfortable as possible.

"The Rivers State Government therefore supports the ongoing consultations by the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage for arriving at a new national minimum wage floor for the country."

In his opening remarks, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige said  the exercise has been held across the six geo-political zones to ascertain the needs of Nigerian Workers and employers to reach an acceptable and implementable wage.

He said: "It is hoped that at the end of the exercise, we will be able to have women and men who will be engaged in productive work in equable conditions of freedom to associate and bargain collectively with equality and human dignity ".

Ngige who is also the chairman of tripartite committee on National Minimum Wage  , said the aim is to ensure that the nation adopts a national minimum wage that will assure the attainment of social  protection floor for Nigerian citizens.

Presenting the position of Nigerian Labour Congress in the South-South, Comrade Beatrice Otubo called for a living wage for workers.

Also speaking, representative of Trade Union Congress in the South-South, Comrade Austin Jonathan pleaded that pensioners should be considered  in the new wage regime.

The public hearing attracted the representatives of the Governors of Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo and Delta States. Also present at the meeting were labour leaders from the six states of the geo-political zone.

Wike Decries FG’s Plot To Block Opposition Parties’ Account …As Secondus Condemns Buhari’s Visit To Bauchi

The Federal Government is set to deploy its security and anti-graft agencies to frustrate the opposition through blocking the accounts of hostile state governments, Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has alleged.
Noting that the plot was aimed at cutting off funding for the opposition ahead of the crucial 2019 general elections, Wike alleged that if the plot sails through, it was expected to weaken the financial base of the perceived “opposition governors and states” and make them ineffectual in mobilising supporters for the crucial elections.
The governor stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday.
The Rivers State chief executive officer said he had it on good authority that the anti-graft agencies; notably, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) would be used to freeze the accounts of those state governments after spurious examination of their local government accounts, the accounts of the ministries of work, special duties and the Federal Government intervention funds for workers.
“But the real deal is to render the opposition financially incapacitated, so that they can’t mobilise towards the polls,” Wike explained.
“But this is dangerous for democracy. This will further heighten tension in the country. We hope they jettison this evil plot. Elections should not be a do-or-die matter,” the governor emphasised.
It would be recalled that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had earlier raised alarm on the plot to frame its top chieftains and elected government officials, including Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, Wike, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, among others.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, has described as “insensitive” President Muhammadu Buhari’s “reluctance” to visit Benue State.
He said the President should visit Benue State to commiserate with the people and the Catholic Church, which lost two priests and 17 other worshippers “in a senseless killing” by herdsmen.
The PDP chairman said the President should have visited Benue first before embarking on his ongoing two-day visit to Bauchi State.
Secondus said that while the nation and the Christian community, globally, mourn the “brutal murder” of the two priests, the President decided to “jump into an aircraft to Bauchi State” on a two-day visit without going to the venue of the murder in Benue State to commiserate and see things for himself, being the Commander-in-Chief.
He said that the action left everyone to wonder at the alleged lack of emotion on the part of the President concerning the plight of the citizens.
The PDP boss said in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mr. Ike Abonyi in Abuja, yesterday, that what the President was doing was “a clear show of arrogance and lack of empathy;” wondering why the needless bloodletting in Benue State should not attract his (Buhari’s) feelings.
He said, “There is no time a people need show of empathy and concern more than when they are in mourning mood, as is the case now with the people of Benue State.”
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the people of the South-East not to allow themselves to be taken for a ride by the Presidency with the claim that its support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid would help facilitate the Igbo quest to have one of its own occupy the highest seat of power.
The party also challenged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to demonstrate its new found love for the South-East by ensuring the implementation of the 2014 confab report, part of which recommendation is the rotation of the Presidency among the six geo-political zones.
In an interview with newsmen, yesterday, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said if the ruling party was truly in support of the Igbo Presidential aspiration, it should forward the report to the National Assembly for possible input in the amendment of the 1999 Constitution.
He said: “The South-East is a traditional stronghold of the PDP and APC on realising this is coming up with all forms of gimmicks to garner the votes of the South-East. Does APC look like a party that believe in the minority rights? If APC believes in the minority rights, they should go and dust up the 2014 confab report and begin its implementation.
“The question surrounding the possibility of the South-East producing the President is answered in the 2014 confab report. They should take up that report and begin the implementation or forward the report to the National Assembly, and allow the lawmakers to make use of same in amending the relevant provisions of the 1999 Constitution.”
While urging the people to embrace the PDP platform, the publicity scribe argued that the South-East would continue to receive the attention of the party, arguing that if the South-South could produce the nation’s first citizen on its platform; there was no reason the South-East would not repeat the feat.
“That promise to the South-East is not necessary. If they have not done this (implementation of the confab report), they are merely deceiving our brothers in the South-East. But our brothers in the South-East know that the PDP belongs to all Nigerians. They also know that if the South-South can be President, it is equally certain that the South-East can also be President,” he stressed.

Wike Advocates Passage Of Host Communities’ Bill

The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has stated that the passage of the Host Communities’ Bill aspect of the Petroleum Industry Bill would give oil producing communities a sense of belonging.

Speaking at the Government House, Port Harcourt, last Wednesday, during a courtesy visit by the Senate Committee on Petroleum Industry Bill, Wike said that the bill, when passed, would address the challenges faced by oil producing communities.

Wike said: “This is an important aspect of the Petroleum Industry Bill as it concerns the host communities. The host communities will become a component part of the entire process.

“The oil producing communities are bedevilled by all kinds of environmental challenges. The passage of the host communities’ bill will give them a sense of belonging”.

Wike added that the passage of the bill would also enhance the security of petroleum pipelines because of the involvement of the host communities in the production process.

According to the governor, setting aside a certain percentage of funds for the development of host communities was critically important for the peace and economic revitalisation of the communities.

He urged the Senate Committee on Petroleum Industry Bill to visit all slated communities for the necessary interaction as regards their peculiar needs.

Earlier, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Industry Bill, Senator Kabiru Marafa, had said that the Senate attaches importance to the passage of the Host Communities’ Bill.
Marafa noted that the Host Communities’ Bill would be passed before the long vacation of the Senate, adding that the initiative to segment the bill was to ease the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill.

“On assumption of office, the 8th National Assembly took it upon itself to break the jinx and pass the Petroleum Industry Bill once and for all”, he boasted, and assured that the lawmakers would not fail to fulfil that commitment to Nigerians.

US calls on China to immediately release 11th Panchen Lama

"We call on China to release Nyima immediately and to uphold its international commitments to promote religious freedom for all," said State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert.

"US is concerned about "eliminating" the religious, linguistic, and cultural identity of Tibetans by the Chinese authorities."

The United States on Friday called on China to immediately release the 11th Panchen Lama, reportedly abducted by the Chinese authorities some two decades ago.

“On April 25, we marked the birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, who has not appeared in public since he was reportedly abducted two decades ago by the Chinese government at age six,” State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said.

She said the US is concerned about “eliminating” the religious, linguistic, and cultural identity of Tibetans by the Chinese authorities. We are also concerned about the ongoing “destruction” of communities of worship, such as the Larung Gar and Yachen Gar monasteries, Nauert said.

“We call on China to release Nyima immediately and to uphold its international commitments to promote religious freedom for all,” she said.

End Plastic Pollution: Recycle port Harcourt city

2018 earth day was tag with the theme : end plastic pollution which was hosted by a group in port Harcourt called recyclephcity

The movement kick off 8am at port Harcourt polytechnic on 21st April 2018

What is Earth Day, and what is it meant to accomplish?

Close to 48 years ago, on 22 April 1970, millions of people took to the streets to protest the negative impacts of 150 years of industrial development.

In the US and around the world, smog was becoming deadly and evidence was growing that pollution led to developmental delays in children. Biodiversity was in decline as a result of the heavy use of pesticides and other pollutants.

The global ecological awareness was growing, and the US Congress and President Nixon responded quickly. In July of the same year, they created the Environmental Protection Agency, and robust environmental laws such as the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act, among many.

One billion people

Earth Day is now a global event each year, and we believe that more than 1 billion people in 192 countries now take part in what is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world.

It is a day of political action and civic participation. People march, sign petitions, meet with their elected officials, plant trees, clean up their towns and roads. Corporations and governments use it to make pledges and announce sustainability measures. Faith leaders, including Pope Francis, connect Earth Day with protecting God’s greatest creations, humans, biodiversity and the planet that we all live on.

Earth Day Network, the organization that leads Earth Day worldwide, has chosen as the theme for 2018 to End Plastic Pollution, including creating support for a global effort to eliminate primarily single-use plastics along with global regulation for the disposal of plastics.  EDN is educating millions of people about the health and other risks associated with the use and disposal of plastics, including pollution of our oceans, water, and wildlife, and about the growing body of evidence that plastic waste is creating serious global problems.

From poisoning and injuring marine life to the ubiquitous presence of plastics in our food to disrupting human hormones and causing major life-threatening diseases and early puberty, the exponential growth of plastics is threatening our planet’s survival. EDN has built a multi-year campaign to End Plastic Pollution.  Our goals include ending single-use plastics, promoting alternatives to fossil fuel-based materials, promoting 100 percent recycling of plastics, corporate and government accountability and changing human behavior concerning plastics.

EDN’s End Plastic Pollution campaign includes four major components:

Leading a grassroots movement to support the adoption of a global framework to regulate plastic pollution;Educating, mobilizing and activating citizens across the globe to demand that governments and corporations control and clean up plastic pollution;Educating people worldwide to take personal responsibility for plastic pollution by choosing to reduce, refuse, reuse, recycle and remove plastics andPromoting local government regulatory and other efforts to tackle plastic pollution.

Earth Day Network is leveraging the platform of Earth Day and the growing interest in the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day in 2020 as a catalyst for global action.
