MAN-HUNT FOR NOTORIOUS NIGER DELTA AGITATOR "DON WANNY"
The military invasion of Aligwu village in Omoku, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government area, ONELGA, of Rivers state has led to the expansion of security as the manhunt for the notorious ex Niger Delta agitator, Johnson Igwedibia also known as Don Wanny begins.
A top security source, who confirmed this to our correspondent in Port Harcourt, disclosed that a crack team has been set up to apprehend the Aligwu-born former militant.
He said the mansion of Don Wanny at his hometown in Aligwu village, Omoku in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government area will be handed over to the Rivers state government.
The source added that arms, ammunition and other incriminating materials found in his home will be handed over to the Police and the DSS while the two bags of cannabis will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
“It will interest you to know that more damming discoveries were made from the raid carried out by the Joint Military Task Force on the home of Don Wanny”, the source added.
DAILY POST reports that fresh human corpses and parts were exhumed from shallow graves surrounding Don Wanny’s home.
The discoveries were made when the General Officer Commanding the Six Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Major-General Enobong Udoh led other military chiefs to Omoku.
In the meantime, there are fears that the security of Omoku in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government area of Rivers state is being threatened.
Some politicians and individuals have been accused of fuelling fresh crisis through the elections into Ego Youths Federation and Idu Obosiukwu Association.
To this end, authorities of ONELGA have announced ban on activities of the associations.
Chairman of the Local Government, Osi Olisah said efforts to thwart the peace that has been restored to ONELGA will be resisted.
