#2019election: APC and PDP- DID GOV. WIKE SUCCUMBED TO AMAECHI

The political clash that loomed at Opobo in Opobo/ Nkoro LGA between the major parties in the state  PDP and APC may have been averted.

The two political parties had fixed Friday May 6 2018 for their rallies, to among other things welcome defectors from each of the parties.

It should be noted that while the  APC had long fixed its rally tagged " mega rally " about a month ago, the PDP in turn fixed it's programme about two weeks ago on the same date ( tomorrow ).

Our correspondent had earlier in the week reported of the impending clash with the headline " APC, PDP May Clash In Opobo Weekend ".

In the meantime, can authoritatively report that governor Wike and his PDP have rescinded their decision to hold the rally in Opobo Town.

Insider sources: that Wike decided to bow following a foreseen pressure that would have been hard for him to contain.

Gov Wike , we can report has moved his engagement with the people of Opobo to Government House Port Harcourt same day, Friday May 6, 2018.

This was further confirmed by the Care Taker Committee  ( CTC ) chairman of Opobo/Nkoro LGA, Mr Boma Brown through a radio announcement asking the people of the area to turn out in mass to government house to meet with the governor,  irrespective of political party leaning.

Meanwhile, indication reveals that Opobo is already wearing a new look as preparations have reached advanced stages ahead of  mega rally of the APC.
